Sons Of Crom: Victory

Do you feel like there are too few Bathory-like bands in these dark ages of horrible taste? Then this is your lucky day because this little motherfucker brings 12 minutes of total Bathory worshipping as if doing something else would be the most retarded thing to do, ever.
This one track EP is full of influences from the legend’s Viking era, with a huge cinematic atmosphere, clean and harsh vocals and the so familiar choirs. However Sons of cum is not a one man band, instead it consists of two gentlemen, well, one gentleman and one CadenZ to speak the truth.
This Finnish-Swedish hybrid duo takes you back to the time where dragons where associated with bad ass ships (and not role playing guys with concave chests and greasy hair), where winter was welcomed after the horrible summer and where women enjoyed facial hair (still true for real women). This mid tempo track keeps the listener interested throughout the entire journey and if one for one second thinks the music gets a bit too repetitive the vocals come in and tell you that you’re wrong and should hit your head on an axe.
Good stuff indeed and some vocal deliveries are somewhere between awesome and phony, just as they should, I guess. So reach for your (meat) sword and face your enemy, but first take this toadstool.
